BBC Radio 3 Live Broadcast

Following a great response after Tribal Hunt was aired on BBC Radio 3 on July 27th, I was invited for a live performance and interview at the BBC studio in London. The live broadcast took place on August 16th - click on the picture below to hear it on iPlayer! Available until September 15th.

On Friday 26th January 2018, my new string quintet Souq was premiered at the Kaleidoscope concert in Birmingham UK. Kaleidoscope is a project that brings together composers and performers in weekly workshops where we explore different approaches to improvisation. Over the course of 5 months, each composer developed a piece for the ensemble as a result of these workshops. The pieces do not only explore improvisation, but also draw on elements of folk music, allowing each composer to bring a personal touch to the music.

BBC Broadcast!

Back in January I was commissioned to write a piece for the Emulsion Sinfonietta, to be performed at the Emulsion V festival at the MAC Birmingham. Emulsion is a series of one-day music festivals that take place every couple of years. It was founded by Trish Clowes with the aim to combine jazz, contemporary music and improvisation, thus creating a platform for like-minded musicians.

My piece 'The Woodcarver' was broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on Friday 10th March, and will be available to hear online for one month. You can listen through the link below, starting at 2:25:02.

Yesterday I graduated from Birmingham Conservatoire with a BMus (hons) in instrumental performance. It has been an exciting 4 years and in many ways the most educational time of my life so far. I'm now very much looking forward to starting an MMus in composition at Birmingham Conservatoire this September! I'm planning to use this time to develop many more interesting projects and events, so stay tuned!

CROSSING LINES is finally out!

Check the music section for a preview listen - the digital album can be yours for only £7 and for an extra £2 you get the physical CD in all its glory!

Special thanks goes to Ben Weatherill for all the hard work, long hours and endless support he has provided throughout this project. I would also like to thank Sofia Bergvall for the amazing artwork and Ed Bennett for compositional guidance. Lastly, I would like to thank my family for their endless moral support.

CIRCLES launch concert

Birmingham Conservatoire

Official launch concert for my new album CIRCLES. Themed around the circulation of time and space and the cyclic nature of our universe, the short album features five pieces for multitrack violin. This concert will present the compositions in a live context, using live looping, electronics and surround sound to create an immersive aural experience.
